A study released Wednesday by the Institute for Sports Economics and Research found that lacrosse, basketball and soccer are worth far more than football.
The institute found that the sport with the highest number of deaths is football with an average of nearly 30.7 per 100,000, while the sport that has the lowest number of fatalities is lacrosse with about 12.7.
The report was released at the International Lacrosse Confederation’s annual meeting.
“There is no question that lacresports are at the very top of the sports safety pyramid,” said James P. McPherson, the institute’s president and CEO.
“That pyramid has not changed in decades, and it is one that we hope will continue to expand.”
The institute found the average cost of an individual protective equipment device is $1,500, with an additional $500 for the cost of the helmet, gloves, and other protective equipment.
The study was based on data from the National Center for Health Statistics, which collects information on health care costs and uses that data to produce a composite price index.
The value of protective equipment in terms and dollar value of a device is determined by an index created by the International Federation of Lacrosse Players, which uses that index to calculate the value of an equipment device.
The index, which can be found on the institute website, is based on the costs of the components of the equipment, including the parts used for its construction and the materials used to manufacture it.
“We have the ability to calculate a value for a lot of different sports,” said McPhersonsaid.
“You can’t do that with just numbers.””
According to the institute, the median cost of a lacrosse helmet in 2017 was $6,600 and the median for basketball was $5,900. “

Lacrosse is the sport most popular in the U.S. and Canada, with the top leagues in the sport playing more than half of all games in the United States and Canada.
There are some major differences in the costs for different sports.
Basketball is the least expensive sports with an estimated average cost per helmet of $4,500 and the least cost for lacrosse is $8,400.
According to the Institute, the average costs for each sport are much higher than the national average.
