Walmart is selling its sports equipment brand in its online store, with no online presence yet.
The company posted the news on its official Instagram account on Thursday afternoon, saying the store would not be selling the brand “due to an internal decision”.
Walmart said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal that it was “aware of the news reports that Walmart is removing all of its sports apparel brands from its online stores”.
The company also confirmed that it would be discontinuing its online sports apparel retailer, but did not provide further details on the reasons behind the decision.
Walmart has been in the news for the last few weeks over a number of issues, including a recent scandal involving the retailer’s child labour policy and the death of an employee who died from a heart attack in 2014.
