By now, you probably have heard the news that a 15-year-old boy from New Jersey lost his entire collection of hockey equipment when his grandmother’s car broke down.
The boy, who has not been named, was riding a bike when the incident occurred, and he was struck by a vehicle while on the highway.
According to NBC New York, the teenager was hit by a car while riding his bike.
His grandmother, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
The family of the deceased told the station that they were stunned by the news.
The New Jersey State Police said that the teenager had left his grandmothers vehicle in the middle of the road, which was in front of a grocery store when the accident occurred.
The accident happened in the early morning hours of March 19.
A man was seen speeding away from the scene in a silver Chevy pickup truck.
The vehicle that struck the teen was later recovered, police said.
According the New Jersey Advance Media, the teen’s grandmother, Marissa Dominguez, is believed to have been riding the bike at the time of the crash.
