The Lad, an Australian professional boxer, has become something of a celebrity after being trapped inside a hotel in Brazil for six days.

A man in Brazil’s south-west state of Minas Gerais found Lad sitting on the floor, naked, with a plastic bag over his head and a dead rat dangling from his mouth.

Lad’s owner, Sergio de Castro, has spoken out about his ordeal, calling the incident “a travesty” and saying Lad had no choice but to stay in a filthy room.
